- Generate personalized lesson plans using AI
- Save your lesson plans to your library
- Export lesson plans to Google Docs
- Keep you logged in
- Send important service emails (password resets, beta updates)
To Improve LessonFlow (Beta Testing)
During beta, we actively use your data to:
- Understand how teachers use the app
- Identify confusing features or bugs
- See where people get stuck
- Test if new features work well
- Make the product better for everyone
This is the whole point of beta testing - we're watching how the app performs in real-world use.

You can opt out of non-essential emails by clicking unsubscribe in any email (but we'll still send critical service updates).
PostHog Analytics & Session Recordings
What is PostHog?
PostHog is an analytics platform that helps us understand how you use LessonFlow. It's like having a camera watching how teachers navigate the app so we can make it better.
What PostHog Collects
Session recordings:
- Screen captures of your interactions with LessonFlow
- Mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls
- Which buttons you click and forms you fill out
- How you navigate between screens
Usage analytics:
- Pages visited and features used
- Time spent on each screen
- Device and browser information
- General location (city/state, not exact address)
- Anonymized user identifier (not your email)
What PostHog Does NOT Capture
We've configured PostHog to exclude:
- Passwords and password fields
- Payment information (not applicable during beta)
- The detailed text content of your lesson plan inputs
- Student names or student data (we don't collect this anyway)
- Browsing activity outside LessonFlow
- Private information in forms marked as sensitive
Session recordings show us HOW you use the app, not the specific content you create.
Why We Use Session Recordings
Session recordings help us:
- See where people get confused
- Identify bugs in real-world use
- Understand workflow problems
- Watch how teachers actually generate lesson plans
- Test if our designs work as intended
Example: If we see 10 teachers clicking the same wrong button, we know we need to fix the design.
Your Privacy Controls
You can:
- Opt out of PostHog tracking by contacting support@satsana.ai
- Use Do Not Track browser settings (we'll respect them)
- Clear cookies in your browser (though this will log you out)
Note: Opting out of PostHog means we can't see your usage patterns, but the core app still works.
PostHog Data Security
PostHog stores data securely:
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Hosted in the United States
- Access is limited to our development team
- Data is automatically deleted after 90 days (beta testing period)

Student Privacy - Our Ironclad Promise
We Do NOT Collect Student Data
LessonFlow is designed for teachers, not students. We never ask for or store:
- Student names
- Student ID numbers
- Student grades or performance data
- Photos of students
- Any information that identifies individual students
What About "Accommodations"?
When you enter accommodation types (like "ADHD support," "ELL strategies," "IEP considerations"), these are general teaching strategies, not information about specific students.
Example:
OK = "Include ADHD-friendly strategies" (general teaching approach)
NOT OK = "Johnny Smith has ADHD" (we'd never ask for this)
Compliance with Student Privacy Laws
- FERPA: Doesn't apply because we don't collect student educational records
- COPPA: Our service is for adults 18+ only; we don't target children
Teachers are responsible for any student data in their own records. LessonFlow is just a tool to help plan lessons.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
Security practices:
- Passwords are encrypted (we never see your actual password)
- Data transmitted over secure HTTPS connections
- Access limited to authorized personnel only
- Regular security updates
- Industry-standard hosting providers
However, no system is 100% secure. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential.
If we discover a data breach, we'll notify affected users promptly and take steps to fix the issue.
